Dr. Mazursky

Dr. Mazursky is an exceptional dentist with over 35 years of experience. Dr. Mazursky received his DDS degree from New York University in 1980. He graduated in the top five percent of his class. Dr. Mazursky has been inducted into the honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. After graduation, Dr. Mazursky decided to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. He did a general practice residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He was next assigned to a Marine Base where he had rotations in general dentistry, periodontics, and oral surgery. After completing his military service, Dr. Mazursky opened his present practice in Columbia, Maryland.

Dr. Mazursky is a member of the American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, Howard County Dental Association, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dr. Mazursky enjoys staying current in the ever-changing field of dentistry and dedicates a substantial number of hours each year to continuing education. He has received training from some of the country’s most prominent cosmetic dentists.

Dr. Mazursky has done volunteer dental work for Christina’s Smile Children’s Dental Clinic and the Howard County Dental Health Department.

Dr. Mazursky is married and has two adult children.

Dr. Yap-Encomienda

Dr. Lani Yap-Encomienda has been a patient of Dr. Mazursky’s since she was seven years old. She graduated from University of Maryland, College Park as a College Park Scholar and a Maryland Distinguished Scholar. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2016 from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she completed clerkships in both Pediatrics and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and served on the Committee for Dental Recruitment and Admissions and the Clinical Advisory Board.

Graduating in the top of her class and in recognition of her academic and clinical achievement, Dr. Yap was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society, Gorgas Odontological Honorary Society, and Gamma Pi Delta Prosthodontic Honor Society. She earned several individual awards, including the Nathan David Gold Memorial Award for conscientious and enthusiastic dedication to clinical practice and the Irving I. Abramson Endodontics Award for outstanding skill and expertise in diagnosis and technical aspects of endodontics.

After graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital under the Department of Otolaryngology’s Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dentistry – one of the nation’s most prestigious and selective general practice residency programs.

During residency, Dr. Yap gained more extensive training in hospital-based dentistry, comprehensive treatment planning, and emergency oral care. As one of Hopkins’ three dental residents, she treated dental trauma cases, cardiac and transplant patients prior to surgery, and head and neck cancer patients preparing for radiation-oncology treatment. She was also exposed to pediatric dentistry and oral and maxillofacial surgeries for medically compromised patients requiring general anesthesia in an operating room setting. Further, she treated patients in the dental clinic, gaining additional experience with fixed and removable prosthodontics, rotary endodontics, dental implants, and outpatient oral surgery.

Dr. Yap is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and Maryland State Dental Association.

Prior to her dental calling, Dr. Yap was an academic advisor at the University of Maryland’s College of Computer, Mathematical, & Natural Sciences. She grew up in Ellicott City, attended Notre Dame Preparatory School in Towson, and trained in classical ballet for 18 years. She and her husband Steve have two young boys and reside in Anne Arundel County.

Jasmen Archibald, Office Manager/Qualified Dental Assistant

Jasmen has been a member of the Oak Hall staff since February 2013, starting off as part of our front desk team. After completing classes at the Maryland State Dental Association she earned her Dental Assisting license. She now works in our office as a QDA and also serves as the Office Manager. In her spare time, Jasmen enjoys going to the movies, gaming, playing music, writing poetry, and shopping.

Ana Monge, Dental Assistant

Ana became part of the Oak Hall Dental team in 2019. She has been in the dental field for over 8 years and is continuing her education to become a Dental Hygienist. In her free time she likes to bake, go to the movies, and travel.

Angie Plano, Dental Hygienist

Marie Cavey, Hygienist

Marie graduated from the Community College of Baltimore in 1993, earning her license as a Dental Hygienist. Marie has worked as a Hygienist for Dr. Mazursky for over 10 years.

Rachel Goykhman, Hygienist

Rachel received her BS from the University of Maryland and has been a Dental Hygienist since 2001. She has been working with Dr. Mazursky since 2010. Rachel is on the Advisory board for the dental hygiene program at Howard Community College and publishes a Dental IQ magazine for patients. She has two children and in her spare time enjoys gardening and baking.

Rachael “Cha” Davis, Hygienist

Cha has been a part of our dental family since December of 2011. She started off as Dr. Mazursky’s Assistant and then became a Registered Dental Hygienist in May of 2013. She loves cleaning teeth and educating her patients on proper dental homecare. You just might catch her singing a tune as she is cleaning your teeth.
